I remember this salad when I went to Gatlinburg,TN. I think Was age 8 the first time I tasted this. It’s a refreshing, light salad. I recreated my own version.
2-3 Cucumbers or 6 -8 “pickle type” cucumbers (very thin slice)
1/4 white vinegar
1/2 cup water
1/3 veg oil
2 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 Tbsp fresh dill chopped or 1/2 tsp dried
3/4 c sour cream
Place the onions and cucumbers in medium size bowl. Mix vinegar, oil, water, salt, sugar and dill, as dressing. Pour over Cucs and Onions . Put in fridge for 30- or hour. Drain liquid. Add sour cream , stir and marinate overnight. It’s great then , great a week later and gets better.
